Bicycles and Bikes – Part II

After my postgraduation, I joined Pond’s India Ltd., in Pondicherry. I bought a Kawasaki KB100. It was a good bike and served its purpose. I used it for about 2 years and when I moved to Madras to join TCS I sold it. The only incident worth mentioning is how I fell into a cesspool. Read the rest of this entry »

Bicycles and Bikes – Part I

I learned to ride the bicycle during the summer vacation of my fourth standard. Since we didn’t have a cycle at home, my dad rented a cycle and I learned cycling on that. By the time the vacation was over, I had learned the art of cycling, but had no cycle to ride as the rented cycle was returned. I had to switch schools in the fifth standard as boys were allowed only up to fourth standard in the school I was studying. Read the rest of this entry »
