Petrarchan Sonnet 1 – Melting Fears

Her eyes had hue of ocean waters deep,
They were so blue, I could get lost in them,
They glowed in sunlight like a sapphire gem,
I think of them and lose my nightly sleep.
I want to hold her tight, her love to keep,
She is the flower, I am just the stem,
She rules my world with love’s own diadem,
If she should leave me, I would surely weep.

Once she left me and I began to cry,
I thought that she would not come back to me,
I cried and cried till there were no more tears.
She came back quick without me giving try,
I pulled her close and kissed her spirit free,
She melted in and banished all my fears.
