Home

When your workplace is toxic,
when anger and jealousy fill the air,
when smiles hide sharpened knives,
when others claim the fruits of your labour,
when your efforts go unnoticed,
when your career is quietly undermined,
when everyone pursues only their own success,
when lies replace trust
and you have no friend in whom to confide,

you begin to long
for a place of quiet.

A place where your burdens are shared,
where loving hearts listen without judgment,
where you can entrust your deepest secrets,
where your words are understood,
where tears need no apology
and laughter knows no restraint,
where no one measures your worth
or keeps score,
where your weary mind finds peace
and your wounded spirit finds rest.

That place is home.

There you may speak without fear,
sit in silence without discomfort,
weep without shame,
and laugh until your heart is light.

There,
you are not another employee,
not another name on a register,
not another face in a crowd.

You are simply
someone who is loved.

Blessed are those
whose home is their refuge,
for there they are welcomed,
not for what they achieve,
but for who they are.
