Sonnet 14 – The Art of Staying in Love

To fall in love comes easily to all,
To stay in love, so passion does not fade, is hard.
Love makes so many feel its sudden thrall,
Yet scars of past defeats leave hearts marred.

True love is like a bottle, aged and fine,
The more you taste, the richer it will grow.
Two lovers vow together—you are mine,
And hear love’s beating drums in steady flow.

Many affairs end just as they began,
They falter, never reaching journey’s close.
They drift away like ships without a plan,
Or mix like oil and water—never those.

Heaven rewards the hearts that still endure,
Love’s timeless gift, eternal and secure.
