Sonnet 13 – Grace Beyond the Body

I know you more than you can know yourself
I do know that your joy is a disguise.
You have kept all your sad thoughts on a shelf,
You have seen your sad thoughts in my own eyes.

I want to spend my whole life by your side,
My presence makes the darkness fade away.
Through every storm, with you I shall abide,
My voice restores the light of breaking day.

I know you will never rise from bed,
Yet nothing can deter my love for you.
Though paralyzed, you still can lift your head.
Talk to me all day and love will grow true.

Your mind outshines the beauty of your face,
Our souls were joined by heaven’s tender grace.
