Wow! you wake up at 4:45 AM every day!! I used to wake up this early when i was working in my prev job, to catch an early train so that I can come back home early. It really need lot of motivation for me to wake up that early regularly..

Venus: Because I cannot sit at a stretch for long hours, I work in split shifts. I go to sleep between 3pm and 6pm and then again at 1am and wake up at 4.45am.

Sometimes, I can be very sarcastic and caustic, and I hate that habit.

Alexis, I think this Tag has been the best by far as it gives us a little more perosnal insight about you (me too).

8 varieties of Omlettes? Wow This is the most versatile dish anyone can make, any kind of filling can be added to make a totally different kind of dish.

Only one partner? tsk tsk 🙂

I must play the radio in the kitchen….

Rum and Cola, we Cancerians have great tastes don’t we?

Platinum Diamond combo…PERFECT!!! That’s the way I like it 🙂

Admirable traits are admirable indeed. We have to do whatever we can upto a point!

Thank you so much for taking this up!!

Man I just cant imagine myself waking up at 4.45 am…Last time I did that was during engg entrance preperation days when I had freakin tutions at 5 in the morning!!!

Good to know more abt u Alexis. I get up at 5 when I have to go to work, and am so used to it now that even on holidays I usually wake up early. 🙂

Mind Curry: You go to sleep at 4.45am? 8 varieties of Omelets is no big deal—you just vary the filling and sometimes add a few ingredients to the egg mixture. Coffee is something I love. Used to drink 16- 20 cups each accompanied with a cigarette in the good old days. Now limited to one cup—black with 2 tsp sugar

Sarah: I am a morning person. I used to get up at 5am since I was in the first standard. So getting up at 4.45 is not a problem. In fact, however hard I try, I can’t sleep after 5.30am. Now with the split shift I go to sleep at 1am, which makes me a night person too. Caramel custard and omelets are two very easy to make dishes. You can’t make a mistake while making it.

silverine: It was a nice tag to do. I agree with you on the versatility of omelets. Yes, only one partner and that to a nobody—‘none’. The satellite radio is a nice thing. You don’t have to change the CDs and you get CD quality sound and more than 40 genres to select from and it is available 24×7. Rum n cola is a great combination. I know that the admirable trait that I have mentioned is something that everybody have or does. But could not come up with something nice and special.

Dhanush: There are a lot of advantages of getting up early. There are more than 100 types of omelets, I have tried more than 8, but I was good at making 8 or 9. Why don’t you take up the tag?

chekku: Lot of Cancerains in the blogosphere. Tuitions at 5 in the morning. OMG. Would you be interested in taking this tag?

suji: Thanks Suji. Waking up early gives a lot of peaceful and productive time.

Very Good!! I think we Cancerians are good with cooking. I’ve never been near to the Stove, but I could teach my younger brother to make tea just by giving instructions. Can decipher any of my mother’s recipes for a third person. SSP

I thought of taking up this tag, but couldn’t find anything worth (colourful) mentioning.

You’re lucky to be self-employed-you can work in break-shifts, I’d have loved that kind of freedom (you see, grass is always greener on the other side). 🙂

@Silverine: Keeping tagging Alexis like this. You’re helping me to know him (My Hero) better. I’d have never found the guts to ask him some of the things that he mentions in the tag.

But, there was something about yours that not only made me spend 2 hours on it, but also made me come back the next day and the next.

You write very well. Your story is very touching too.

Dhanush: Thank you for taking the tag and completing it. Nicely done… My comments at your blog.

  19. Alexis Leon said,

    June 24, 2006 at 11:48 pm

anu: Waking up early is something I have always done. So no problems with that. Oh, yes, I can be very sarcastic at times, something I am trying to avoid.

Manju: I studied in a residential school for the first 8 months of my first standard. There the normal waking up time was 5am; had to attend the Holy Mass at 6.00am. But after I left that school and came home the habit didn’t change. My dad used to get up (he still does) at 5am and I would get up with him as I got to drink the morning coffee (instead of milk) with him. I used to study, read, write or paint (mainly coloring and sketching) during those days.

I too studied in a residential school from KG class to class 3— then i used to get up in the morning( otherwise cane)— but now i can’t–
when we were in Riyadh(Saudi) my husband told me if i get up early morning we woud go to Baharain(which is 5 hrs drive from there) i was 100% i won’t make it.so what i did that night i did all the cleaning, washing, packing & made sandwiches etc, for the trip– then i had a bath & woke my husband at 4a.m & he was shocked to see all was set ready near the entrance door– & we left at 4:30—slept the whole journey & u know there is nothing to see in the desert highway—-

Manju: Your preparation to the trip to Bahrain was interesting to read. Nice ways to wake up early—don’t sleep 🙂

chacko: 5.30am is not bad, but the ability to sleep till 7.00 when you can is good. I can’t do that. The maximum I can sleep is till 5.45 – 6.00.

nina: Do get up early for a change 🙂

quills: You are welcome. You can stop at Cochin on your way to Kanjirapally 🙂

Jo: It seems like that. Rum, Whiskey, Vodka—all are in my wish list as I don’t drink now. I think I must have exhausted my quota.

Wow! You wake up at 4.45AM sharp?? Let me tell you one thing; I need to be in office at 9.30 AM and I wake up on all days at 8.20 AM, sometimes when cricket/football matches are there on TV, it may go up to 8.45 AM. Thank heavens, I am staying very close to my office! 😉

I am also a Cancerian and I do like all kinds of omelettes. (Same pinch!)

No unusual talents or skills? That was a very genteel Alexis Leon. (But sleeping between 3PM and 6PM and then between 1AM and 4.45 AM is really unusual ;))

You must be a very good cook, na?

  28. Alexis Leon said,

    June 28, 2006 at 12:34 pm

Sreejith: Yes, I wake up at 4.45am sharp 🙂 So how is work? Another Cancerian who likes omeletes. I am yet to find one who doesn’t 😉

Yes that could be considered unusual, but not much skill involved in it.

I was a very good cook. But these days I don’t cook for practical reasons. I won’t feel a thing even if my foot is on fire 🙂

I wanted to post this poem in the comments section of your story.. I salute you sir for the determination and grit you have shown and the way you are living your life !!!

I have nothing to gift you except my kannan…..

    To Alexis

    Today I found you
    read your story with
    anguish,exictement
    and sense of triumph

    I only had my kannan*
    with me as my mentor,
as my best friend, as my
    soul and he was mine.

I wanted him to love me
    more than anyone else.
Now I dont want it,I want
    him to love you more

You may think I am mad
But I care little for that
I gift you my lord with wet
    eyes and heavy heart

    I may be crying because
I am not as strong as you
I am happy because I gifted
you my sole reason for joy
