Day loves night.
Night loves day.
When the day comes,
night is gone.
They meet for a short time
during twilight.
Sun loves moon.
Moon loves sun.
When the sun comes,
moon is gone.
They meet for a moment
during a solar eclipse.
Man in the night shift loves woman.
Woman in the day shift loves man.
When the man arrives,
the woman is ready to leave.
They meet for a brief time
in the parking lot.
But the man and woman can take leave.
They can be together for days.
They can marry and live together.
They can share meals and dreams,
raise children and grandchildren,
and live happily even if they work different shifts.
But day and night don’t have that freedom.
Sun and moon can’t take leave of absence.
How lucky humans are,
for they have the freedom to choose
when to work and when not to.
Cherish that freedom and let love find its time.
