Pen and Rifle

My brother gave me a pen that looked like a sniper rifle.
An exact replica: stock, grip, trigger, chamber,
barrel, scope, and bipod—all resembling a weapon.
The barrel doubles as the writing instrument.

The pen is a mighty weapon. With words you can hurt,
maim, torture, and kill—cruel words.
The pen is also a tool of grace. With words you can inspire,
motivate, praise, love, and forgive—kind words.

The rifle is a mighty weapon. With bullets you can wound,
maim, torture, and kill—well-aimed shots.
The rifle is also a tool of rescue. With bullets you can save,
liberate, and protect lives—well-aimed shots.

Both pen and rifle can destroy or redeem.
When these two instruments of power combine,
it is up to you to decide how—and which—you will use.
So, choose wisely.
