Sonnet 7 — The Eternal Kiss

The waves kiss shores with tender love and care,
The land kisses back with equal touch and feel,
The tides roll in to greet the beach with flair,
And earth receives them with a speedy zeal.

The sea adores the land, and land loves back,
When they are joined, the pair is calm and glad,
The ocean heaves to give its treasure pack,
And those who get the gifts are never sad.

But seas can turn on us and ruin all,
And eat away the shore with zero guilt,
The land can lose its strength and huts can fall,
The shore will lose all of its beauty and gilt.

But sea calms down, returning to its nature,
The land cools down to kiss the water later.
