Sixty years ago, you stole my heart—
the greatest gift life gave to me.
Sixty years ago, you gave me yours—
the finest treasure I’ll ever keep.
Looking back, I can remember every moment
of our life since we first met.
I can recollect each joy and trial,
and when I recall those days,
I feel euphoric, content, and ecstatic.
You gave me a son and a daughter.
When I see their lives, their triumphs, their families,
when I feel the love of our children and grandchildren,
I know we have done things right.
The effort we gave in raising them was not in vain.
The time we spent teaching them
love, respect, morals, and values was not wasted.
When I see our children teaching their children
the lessons we once taught, I feel gratified.
I was a barren land before you came as cooling rain.
You drenched me, nurtured me, nourished me.
Under your tender care, I bloomed—
a garden alive with trees, shrubs, and flowers,
with birds, butterflies, and bees.
You made me feel complete and whole.
Our life had its ups and downs, yet we never faltered.
Bonded in love, we faced and conquered
the challenges life threw at us.
Together we were invincible.
We had a long and fulfilling life,
and children to carry our legacy.
If another life awaits me,
let it be with you alone.
That is my prayer, my only wish—
that God will grant me this.
